-
Mothers First has been advocating within the United Nations since 2015. Now is a key opportunity to work at a grassroots level to turn policy into action.
-
Mothers First knows first-hand the struggles faced by small organisations. We will build capacity, strengthen leadership and promote gender empowerment.

Mothers First will broaden its own understanding of the particular difficulties faced in Africa. This will strengthen our ability to advocate the highest international level
The Listening tents to action.
When you listen some duty to act falls upon those who can help.
Mother’s First primary role in Somiland is to empower local organisations to identify those most in need of help and Colectively find solutions within the expertise of the MAGAN network platform.
Specifiaclly we are are focused in developing a multi cordinted inter agency approach to the relocation of IDP Camp. That is a fancy way of saying getting every one to work together. .
The Midwives asked us for training
The group discusions with the traditional midwives identified the need for training and equipment to help them deliver babies safely.
We are delighted that Enda Annand Hospital in Hergaesi has offered this training to Ruqiya.
.
Birthing Tent
They have also asked as for a 5-meter by 5-meter birthing tent. They have said tey will also use it as a place for women to come. The tent will be located in a women's space within the camp.
This is not about finding the money for a birthing tent. It is installing this request within the system to see if this is a durable solution.
.
The Micro Loans Chicken Project
During the listening Tents project, one mother asked for a small loan for 7 chickens to develop a small business selling eggs.
We have given 7 families a miro loan where the money paid back will stay within the community to set up another business.
.
Intergrarting the Global Action Plan on Wasting
The Global Action Plan on wasting has been developed by Unicef to provide a durable solution to the prevention of child wasting by developing a cordinated inter agency approach
